The status

The Statut of the village of Filipeni for 2024 is an official document approved by the Local Council of Filipeni by decision no. 3.4 dated March 22, 2024. This statut regulates the administrative-territorial organization and functioning of the locality in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Moldova.

The village of Filipeni is a level I administrative-territorial unit, located in Leova district, 9 km from Leova town and 81 km from Chișinău. The village is crossed by the R34 regional road, which connects it to the main regional economic centers, thus offering a high potential for economic and tourism development. The total area of the village is 4483.08 hectares, with a population of 3,300 inhabitants at the end of 2023, the majority of whom are of Romanian ethnicity (95%).

The statut outlines the administrative structure of the locality, led by the mayor, who acts as the representative of the executive authority and collaborates with the Local Council, which consists of 13 elected council members. The Filipeni Mayor’s Office operates with a staff of 7.5 units, including the mayor, secretary, chief accountant, and specialists in various fields, such as land regulation and tax collection.

The main economic activities in the village are agriculture, viticulture, and retail trade. Filipeni is home to several individual enterprises and commercial companies that contribute to local development. The village also hosts essential institutions such as the local gymnasium, two early childhood education institutions, the House of Culture, the Public Library, and a Health Center.

An important aspect of the statut is the mention of the "Saints Constantine and Helen" Church, an important religious and tourist site. Additionally, the statut regulates public activities, services, and major community events, emphasizing the involvement of citizens in the social and cultural life through public consultations and general assemblies.
